On Saturday J. was accompanying the Avanti Chamber Singers in their concert of Elizabethan music. They are a fairly new local group but extremely well rehearsed and professional. The first half of the programme was Madrigals and the second half Elizabethan poems set to music by Debussy, Mendelssohn and other 19th & 20th century composers.
As usual I couldn't resist the opportunity to sketch the singers
Very animated sketch. the angles of their sheet music and the sculpture niches on the wall create a nice rhythm. I like that you created a lot of contrast through the middle with the darker clothes on the standing singers.
