Strawberries

4"x6" Oil on board

We are at the height of strawberry season here in Niagara and they are pretty good this year. We had better make the most of it because the unseasonably warm spring and late frost ruined most of the tree crops.

  1. Hi Sarah
Thanks for your comments on my blog. I have been enjoying your work lately but haven't stopped to comment as my time has been taken up by my American family visitors. I especially liked the light in "Another Common Tree" and the strong values in "Lock 2 Evening".
I feel as though I can pick one of these berries off the screen, you have captured that stage of ripeness where one must eat the berries today because tomorrow they will be too ripe.

  2. You are so right about the berries. As soon as I finished this I sliced them up and added them to their siblings, sprinkled with sugar, in a bowl in the fridge.
