I expect I will be sick of the Fall theme in a couple of weeks, but in the meantime I am enjoying it. More michaelmas daisies and goldenrod, lovely native plants that are often considered to be weeds here. People are often surprised when I tell them that they are cultivated in autumn flower beds in England. Goldenrod has long had an unjust reputation for causing hay fever, but what most people don't know is that it is the ragweed, which blooms at the same time with tiny green flowers and wind-born pollen, which is the true culprit.
